If I Fell 

First part of chapter 1:

Space is silent.

Regardless of what the holovids advertise, space is deathly quiet. Turbolasers do not groan as they are fired, starfighter engines do not roar as they veer toward battle, people do not scream as they die. Only the creeping cold of the lonely stars fills the void. Only the cold accompanies those who journey there.

In the vacuum of space, there is no noise.

There is only the light of distant stars and the darkness in the space between them.



Mara Jade was no leader. She never desired the prestige of ruling, nor the challenges that came along with it. Although she had been surrounded by powerful leaders her entire life, and loyal to the Empire for the same duration, she saw enough of the corruption and difficulty to never desire that power for herself. She was a soldier. A follower. She knew how to lead troops to battle and inspire others, but to rule the galaxy was not her ambition. She was a tool. A Hand of the Empire. All her life she was able to hear Emperor’s call from anywhere in the galaxy and obey. He had taken her in, taught her, took her under his wing and gave her the life she knew. He gave her the ability to be invisible - to walk within shadows, to travel the stars without a leash. He gave her the ability to make a difference.

Your find a fanfic and its great and wonderful and has spot on characterizations, and then you get to the end and you realize the author never finished it.

No one ever thought it was possible. That one man could gather the star systems of the galaxy under his  hand and lead them into a time of peace. No one thought peace would prosper so soon after the Jedi Rebellion.  But under the guiding hand of the newly appointed Emperor Palpatine it was as if the war never happened. Sons came home. Mothers rejoiced. Fathers praised. Lives were reunited as order spread across the galaxy. The Galactic Empire was a beacon of stability and hope for those ravaged by the Clone Wars. It represented all that was restored and renewed. It stood for what was good and right in the world. Children ran about playing Stormtroopers and Jedi, pulling straws for the poor child to be the Jedi. No one wanted to be a Jedi.





“Beginnings are bought at the cost of an end, New Hope given life when all else is lost. From darkness comes light; from destruction salvation; Son of suns, the Force given form. That which is fallen will rise to dominion, That which is riven will heal the rift. That which is tainted transcends every limit The one who will falter will balance the way…“It is shadows whose edge define the light At the brink of the dawn and the darkness.” A drawing inspired by the ‘Son of Suns’ trilogy by blank101. It’s one of the best fanfictions I’ve read in a long long time. Worth losing 3 days of my life over.Anyways, this is a drawing inspired by that trilogy. A fallen Luke Skywalker trapped on the brink between darkness and light. Just something in my mind that I couldn’t shake. Done completely in pen.
